Everest Base Camp
Everest Base Camp
This is the ultimate trekking goal and is a tough and demanding climb but not technical and should not be beyond the grasp of most competent walkers. At 5400 meters ‘Everest Base Camp‘ is the starting point for many of the expeditions to take on the summit, but the view from the camp and towards the peak across the Khumbu ice fall is breathtaking.
- How hard is it to trek to the Everest base camp? – Everest Base Camp perched on the Khumbu Glacier at the foot of the mountain. First things first – it’s not a climb! It’s a trek and for most parts it’s on mountain paths with gentle gradients. Yes there are a couple of steep ‘sections’ on a couple of days but there’s no rush and people stop on these sections for a rest and recuperation.
- Wanderlust – During those 14 days you will hike by the Kosi River to the thriving hub of Namche Bazar; you’ll trek through the Sherpa heartland, passing vibrant monasteries; you’ll spend days acclimatising to the thin air; you’ll ascend the Khumbu Valley to reach Everest Base Camp itself; and you’ll retrace your steps back down again.
- Global Adventure Challenges – Trek to Everest Base Camp and explore the foothill of the highest mountain in the world on this adventure of a lifetime!
