Energy efficiency begins with the building which should be thoroughly insulated, has double glazing, thermostats for each room and renewable energy.
Protection of the environment begins with not using chemical fertilisers, pesticides or herbicides.
Kitchen waste should be composted or recycled. All cleaning supplies used are non-toxic and biodegradable.
Policies of not using plastic cutlery and bottled water. Encourage sensible use of linens and towels.
Water conservation programs include dual flush toilets, low-flow shower heads and the use of rainwater for gardening and other outdoor purposes.
