Seeing dolphins and whales in the wild is one of the most thrilling sights of nature that can be seen. The variety of whales that can be seen across the oceans are numerous but the most impressive are the acrobatic hump-back whale and the blue whale which is the largest known animal to have ever existed. Other species include orcas as well as sperm whales, mink whales and pilot whales.  Dolphins are probably the liveliest and most curious creatures of the sea with frequent sightings of bottle-nose and common dolphins in many parts of the world.  The best times and places to see dolphins and whales are: 
May – October Europe, Iceland, Norway
April – September Portugal, Azores
July – December South Africa (Watch on dry land)
Year Round – Canary Islands, Spain, Gibraltar
